Youngsters are flying the flag for the environment.
Pupils at Stephenson Memorial Primary School have ensured their Wallsend school has been awarded the Eco-School Green Flag again.
The youngsters have been eating produce from their own vegetable patch, eggs from their pet hens and made pledges to recycle everything they can.
Coun John Stirling, cabinet member for sustainable development, said: “I would like to both thank and congratulate Stephenson Memorial on all its fantastic achievements.
“It’s important our next generation understand the impact we can have on the environment, and the staff at Stephenson Memorial have been instrumental in developing really creative and innovative ways to get the entire school on board.
“I recently visited the school and it was brilliant to see part of its grounds filled with polytunnels, which were bursting with fresh fruit and vegetables, tractor tyres containing a wide array of flowers and the children so enthused about their progress.”
