Fundraisers have been raising a glass or two after reaching a major milestone.

Cullercoats Brewery – run by Bill and Anna Scantlebury – has raised £20,000 for the RNLI crew at Cullercoats lifeboat station after nearly four years of fundraising.

The brewery, which donates 3p of every pint sold to the lifesaving organisation, held a special fundraising concert.

The gig, featuring local singer songwriter Pete Scott, was the company’s first live music session and pop up bar, and was held at the Clock Tower cafe by Tynemouth boating pond.

Visitors were treated to a real ale bar, with hot food from local foodies Boda Home while Pete’s inimitable repertoire of lively, thought provoking songs and witty anecdotes proved a hit.

The brewery has grown steadily since setting up in December 2011.
