Fundraising ideas really take the biscuit

HUNDREDS of youngsters around the borough are taking part in a host of activities to raise money for the BBC’s Children in Need appeal tomorrow.

Students at Churchill Community College in Wallsend aim to bake more than 4,000 cupcakes in ten hours.

They will be sold at locations including Wallsend’s Langdale Centre and North Tyneside Council’s Quadrant headquarters on Cobalt Business Park.

They will also be available at Hadrian Park, Denbigh, Battle Hill and Stephenson Memorial primary schools, all in Wallsend.

A concert will be held at Balliol Primary School in Longbenton from 11am to noon, and cakes will be on sale.

Biscuits will also be on sale at Whitley Lodge First School baked by pupils using ingredients supplied by the nearby Tesco store.
