A NORTH Shields woman is holding a fundraising event in aid of a regional hospice.
Karina Mills is hosting a race night at Tynemouth Unionist Club in North Shields in aid of St Oswald’s Hospice.
Karina lost her mam three years ago and wants to raise funds for the hospice.
Karina said: “I lost my mam to a brain tumour three years ago and luckily I was able to give up my job to look after her, which not a lot of people are able to do.
“Losing my mam has been a massive life change for me and I realised that hospices are an absolute godsend to many people.
“I’ve done two race nights before, which have both been a good night and a great success, so I decided to hold this one for St Oswald’s.”
St Oswald’s fundraiser Emma Noble said: “We wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the wonderful support of the community and people such as Karina.
“Every penny our supporters raise through their own fundraising events helps us to continue providing care for families at a time when they need us most.”
The event, on Saturday, March 30, will include a tombola, raffles and buffet.
Tickets at £5 are available from Karina on 07545 032861
Tickets must be purchased before the event.
