A group of fundraisers are gearing up for an epic challenge to raise money for charity.

The group are to embark on a 110-mile bike ride from the Borders to Pearey House, in North Shields.

Staff and fundraisers from Pearey House Centre for Visually Impaired, in Preston Park, will be joined by representatives from Sainsbury’s Tynemouth, their charity partner for 2015/16.

They plan to set off from the Borders on Saturday, April 30, and are due in the following day.

The group of 12 are hoping to raise funds for Pearey House.

So far the fundraisers have received support from Start Cycles, Liberty Coaches and Northumbria Youth Action.
