A charity is preparing to take guests back in time for a party with a difference.

Big hair, shoulder pads and neon lycra will be order of the day at St Oswald’s Hospice’s ‘Back to the Future’ 1980s-themed event at Benfield Motor Group’s new £7m Audi showroom on Scotswood Road, Newcastle.

The event on Saturday, April 25, from 7pm includes a 1980’s disco, themed cocktails, street food, special performances from Encore Dance Entertainment, an auction and surprises on the night.

St Oswald’s fundraiser Laura Elliott said: “The film Back to the Future was set in 2015, so we thought it the perfect title for our all out Eighties extravaganza.

“We know it’s an era when a lot of our supporters were growing up, and it’s associated with so many iconic moments, songs, fashions and films, we thought we could host a really fun fundraising event.”

There are two levels of ticket available for the event, with the VIP access all area admission including a special street food menu inspired by the 1980s, devised by Kenny Atkinson, double Michelin award winning chef and owner of Newcastle restaurant, House of Tides.

Matthew Squires, brand manager, North East Audi, said: “We are delighted to play host to this fun filled party of nostalgia.

“The event promises to be a great fund-raising occasion and as a north east based family business we are pleased to continue our long term support for St Oswald’s by providing this unique venue for the party to take place.”

Tickets are on sale via www.stoswaldsuk.org/backtothefuture or contact Laura Elliott on (0191) 246 9123.
