A NEW group has been established to support manufacturing businesses in the borough.
Some of North Tyneside’s leading manufacturing firms attended a meeting at TyneMet College to hear proposals for a peer-led group which will provide advice, information and signposting services to local manufacturers.
The event was chaired by Andrew Esson, managing director of Quick Hydraulics, who put forward ideas for a range of services which will help to promote the industry both within the area and the wider region.
He said: “I believe that networks and relationships are necessary to building a stronger business base.
“There are many successful companies operating within North Tyneside who want to contribute towards the overall success of the local manufacturing industry.
“I am confident that we can harness their support to assist, in particular, some of our smaller companies who may benefit from peer-led assistance.”
Any manufacturers who want to become involved in the Manufacturing Sector Group should email firstname.lastname@example.org or ring Sandra Wilson on (0191) 643 6000.
