FIVE borough organisations are celebrating after receiving lottery cash to help their work in the community.
The quintet were among 48 schemes in the north east to share the money from the Big Lottery Fund.
Blue Flames Sporting Club, in Benton, received £10,000 to help refurbish gym facilities for people aged 50 and over.
Age UK North Tyneside has been awarded £9,560 to run a healthy eating programme for older people while Balliol Primary School received £7,826 to set up two after school clubs.
Staff at the Cullercoats Community Association are celebrating after getting £8,559 to replace the facility’s manually-operated doors.
Acorn Community Reuse and Recycling Community Interest Company will get £9,150 to run a range of training courses.
