A Cullercoats woman is preparing to lace up her running shoes to complete the Great North Run for charity.
Linda Robinson will be taking part in the run next month with 17 other people as part of the Celebrating Katy team, who raise money for Epilepsy Action, in memory of Katy Doyle.
Katy died at the age of 24 due to SUDEP (sudden unexpected death in epilepsy).
Linda, 49, said: “Tragically in December 2008, close friends of mine, Helen and Ian Doyle, lost their beautiful daughter Katy, due to SUDEP.
“In 2009, in memory of Katy, I made the decision to enter the Great North Runm, and I have now participated in the Great North Run four times.”
To date Linda has raised £1,564 and hopes to raise a further £320 this year for Epilepsy Action.
