Half term fun in borough libraries

A host of activities for all the family will be taking place in borough libraries during the half term holidays.

‘Rocking Robots’ will be at Whitley Bay Library (10am) and Longbenton Library (2pm) on Tuesday, May 28, giving children aged seven and over the chance to build a robot and solve problems. Tickets cost £5 each.

A ‘Book Happy’ event featuring songs, rhymes and games on children’s favourite pirate picture books will take place at Whitley Bay Library on Wednesday, May 29, for children aged two to eight. Tickets cost £4 each.

The ‘Big Foot Theatre Company’ is offering performing arts and creative sessions on Thursday, May 30, at Whitley Bay Library.

There will be two sessions for children aged seven and over, based on ‘The Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ at 10.30am and ‘Tracey Beaker’ at 1pm. Tickets cost £4 each.

Longbenton Library is hosting an indoor teddy bears’ picnic on Thursday, May 30, for children aged five and under. Tickets are £1.50 each.

For those interested in getting up close with unusual animals, a Animal Story event is taking place on Friday, May 31, at Whitley Bay Library (10.30am) and Killingworth Library (2.30pm). Tickets cost £4 each while the sessions are for children aged five and over.

Craft activities based on World Ocean Day will be taking place in all libraries throughout the week.
