Helping people into work

Wansbeck Centre for Voluntary Service has provided grants totalling £3,249 to 11 individuals to help them secure employment, since November 2014.

When Learning Choices, a Northumberland charity closed its doors last year, in keeping with charity law, it donated its remaining funds to Wansbeck CVS to administer the Learning Choices Legacy Fund.

The fund provides help to individuals who have secured employment but may face some difficulties in taking that position.

Grants can provide help with childcare costs, travel, clothes, and in some cases training, that will enable the individual to stay in long term employment.

We also provide grants to individuals who are setting up their own business and may require licences or purchasing of equipment to get started.

Grants are available to anyone who has a job offer or anyone who is going into self-employment and has a good business plan in place.

Further details and an application form are available on www.wansbeckcvs.org.uk or telephone 01670 858688.
