Staff and customers at a wholesale company have helped raise hundreds of pounds for charity.

AF Blakemore Wholesales, in Killingworth, raised £200 through collection tins in aid of St Oswald’s Hospice, which was matched by the Blakemore Foundation to make a total of £400.

Lisa Musgrove, credit controller at AF Blakemore, said: “We have supported St Oswald’s Hospice throughout the years.

“I myself, and a few of our staff, have family members who have benefited from the hospice, or know someone who has been there, so we know the good work that the hospice does.”

Amy Slater, fundraiser at St Oswald’s, said: “We are so grateful for the support we’ve received from AF Blakemore in Killingworth over the years.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff and customers for supporting us through their donations.”

“We rely on the support of local companies and people to help us raise the £6.5m we need each year to continue providing care to north east families.”
