Hundreds of people joined in the fund and helped raise money for a lifesaving organisation.

The event on Sunday, July 19, also included the annual rally held by the Quay Motorcycle Club which attracted more than 200 bikes, scooters and classic cars.

Visitors also got to take a look around the all weather lifeboat ‘Spirit of Northumberland’ and watch it, the inshore lifeboat and Cullercoats lifeboat perform displays. Live music was provided by local band The Parish.

David Stenhouse, volunteer lifeboat operations manager at Tynemouth RNLI, said: “Harbour Day is an important fundraising event for us but it also helps to create awareness and much appreciated support amongst the community that the lifeboat station serves.”

“We’re particularly appreciative of the Quay Motorcycle Club for their continued support as the bike rally has become a major feature of our Lifeboat Day.

We’d like to say a big ‘Thank You’ to everyone who came to support the event
