Information sought after two incidents at new year

POLICE are appealing for information about two incidents of disorder in North Tyneside.

A man was taken to North Tyneside General Hospital with cuts to his face at 2.06am on Tuesday, January 1, after a disturbance in Weyhill Avenue, North Shields.

A 24-year-old man has been summoned to court on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.

The second incident happened at 5.27am on Tuesday, January 1, in the same street, when police were called to a report of an altercation.

A 22-year-old woman was arrested and bailed on suspicion of affray, and Craig Brown, 34, of Ripley Avenue, North Shields, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and appeared before North Tyneside Magistrates on January 2.
