A kind-hearted carer has shed her locks to help two good causes.
Brave Jade Barnes, who is a care assistant at Howdon Care Centre in Wallsend, had her long tresses cut off to donate to the Little Princess Fund, which makes wigs for children who have lost their hair as they battle cancer.
But her generosity didn’t stop there, as she went on to have her entire head shaved to raise funds for a sensory room at the care centre for people with dementia.
Home manager Ruth Todd said: “We’re all extremely proud of Jade. Her hair was down to the middle of her back.
“The sensory room will help our residents who suffer from dementia. They’ll be able to enjoy a variety of sensory experiences where their senses will be stimulated in a controlled way. The sensory room will provide them with a special experience.”
