It was a case of ‘hair today, gone tomorrow’ for a youngster in her charity fundraising.
Josie Russell decided to raise money for Macmillan cancer care as one of her aunts is currently undergoing chemotherapy while two others died from cancer last year.
The five-year-old had ten inches of hair cut off last week, giving the hair to the Princess Trust for it to make wigs for children who have lost their hair undergoing cancer treatment.
And so far Josie has raised more than £620 for the charity – smashing her £150 target.
Josie’s mother Sarah said: “She has been through a lot this last year and we couldn’t believe it when she said it.
“We can’t believe how much she has raised. We are so proud.”
