A six week programme of summer events for all the family continues next week.

Tynemouth Station will host ‘Jungle Week’ from Monday, July 27, to Friday, July 31, between 10am and 4pm daily.

Children can enjoy free jungle-themed fun and have their photo taken with giant animal props including lions, an elephant and much more.

There will also be some live creepy crawlies, snakes and spiders, with the opportunity to hold them and find out lots of interesting facts.

Under the Dome will showcase a range of arts activities, workshops, shows and live music at the new Spanish City Plaza and inside a temporary inflatable dome.

Other events scheduled at Tynemouth Station and the Plaza over the coming weeks include; fun and interactive sessions for under fives, princess appearances, live music, Punch and Judy shows, a kite show, street entertainers fresh from Edinburgh Fringe Festival, film screenings, a mini roller rink, LEGO workshops and more.

Other fun events taking place across the borough next week include; a shark workshop and stranding event at St Mary’s Lighthouse and family fun shows at Playhouse Whitley Bay.
