A North Shields youngster is launching a new baking initiative to help a charity grant magical wishes to children and youngsters with life-threatening conditions.
Katie Bain, from North Shields, is launching Bake-A-Wish to help Make-A-Wish Foundation UK.
Katie, who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in January 2011, was granted her wish to meet Mr Tumble (aka Justine Fletcher).
And now wants to give back to Make-A-Wish by encouraging people in her local community to hold a cake bake at school, work or even for friends and Katy Ashworth, who is supporting the campaign.
She said: “I helped to grant a wish to a little girl called Ella, in July, and saw first-hand just how magical a wish is for a poorly child and their family.
“Bake-A-Wish is such a simple initiative to get involved with, yet it’ll make a huge difference to Make-A-Wish and help them to grant more wishes to children just like Ella and Katie, so please sign up now and get baking.”
