Ken is tickled at lots and lots of happiness

One of the country’s best loved comedians is heading back to Whitley Bay next month for his fourth visit.

Ken Dodd will be returning to the Playhouse Whitley Bay with his much-loved ‘Happiness’ show.

The show will be performed on two nights – Wednesday, August 28, and Thursday, August 29 – with both shows starting at 7.30pm.

Ken will be bringing brand new material along with some of his classics, promising a show that will leave people laughing until it hurts.

Ken has enjoyed a career spanning nearly 60 years, picking up numerous showbiz honours in that time.

These include the first ever ‘Living Legend Award’ from the British Comedy Society, a Lifetime Achievement in the British Comedy Awards and, in his home city of Liverpool, he was voted ‘Greatest Merseysider of All Time’.

The popular comedian has enjoyed two sell-out shows each year at the Playhouse since it re-opened, so people are urged to get their tickets quick.

The 85-year-old stand-up comedian is renowned for his fast, rapid delivery of one-liners, interspersed with original songs.

His portrait has been hung in the National Portrait Gallery in London and there is a statue of him in Liverpool’s Lime Street station.

Tickets cost £20, or £19 concessions, and are available from the Playhouse box office in person or by calling 0844 2481588 or online at www.playhousewhitleybay.co.uk
