A managing director from North Tyneside has run the New York Marathon for a local children’s charity.
Kevin Rogers, 44, who works at Elanders Ltd, took to the streets of New York City on November 2, to run the world’s largest marathon, 26 miles in aid of The Children’s Foundation.
Kevin, who has so far raised more than £4,200, said: “The experience of running the New York Marathon was amazing but very tough at the same time. It was my very first marathon and my first visit to New York City.
“The crowd support along the course was unbelievable and every street was lined with thousands of people, which I needed when I developed cramp at the 23-mile marker.
“The effort was definitely worth it and I am sure the money raised will go a long way to help the children supported by the charity.”
