Pupils at a Whitley Bay first school joined the high seas to take part in a nautical themed charity event.
The youngsters at Appletree Gardens First School invited family members to watch a full school concert to raise funds for the RNLI.
The children from each year group sang an old song about the north east, and then a current song.
Parents were asked to donate to the RNLI to watch the performances.
Headteacher Jill Burrell said: “The children were very excited to show off their dance moves and singing voices in front of their family members.
“The event was a huge success despite some unwelcome weather, and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
“We hope to have raised a lot of money for the RNLI, who do some great work.”
After the performances the pupils enjoyed a picnic.
