Let’s rejoice about Tynemouth schools merger

THANK you for that full report regarding the merger of King’s School with Priory Primary School. Parents of the present King’s School pupils will be £9,000 a year better off.

How will this serious reduction in funding be made up? It will come from those of us who pay taxes, but could never have afforded to send our children to a private school.

But let’s not be churlish. It’s more than likely that the spare cash will be diverted to various local charities, for the benefit of the region as a whole.

So, let there be general rejoicing.
