Library event offers the chance to meet two top writers

A BOROUGH library is hosting a free event to meet two authors.

New Writing North writers Cassandra Parkin and Michael Stewart will be chatting about their books at Wallsend library in Ferndale Avenue on Thursday, March 21.

Cassandra Parkin lives in East Yorkshire, and her short story collection, New World Fairy Tales, won the 2011 Scott Prize for Short Stories.

She has also had work published in numerous magazines and anthologies.

Michael Stewart is an award-winning writer, born and brought up in Salford and is now based in Bradford.

His debut novel, King Crow, won the Guardian’s Not-the-Booker Award and was selected as a recommended read for World Book Night 2012.

The event starts at 7pm and is free to attend.
