AMATEUR artist Ray Campbell will be showcasing his talent at a Whitley Bay gallery this week (Thursday).
V-Gallery on Park View will be welcoming people to not only see the work of the artist, but to see him in action as he creates a piece of work while in the gallery.
Ray, who specialises in paintings of the miners strike of the 1980s as well as local land marks, is a water colour artist but is trying his hand at oils and charcoals.
Artwork by Ray featured in the gallery will also be reduced by 15 per cent on the night.
The gallery is packed with work from local amateur artists, an intentional move by owner Mark Swinburne to allow local people with a skill or a talent the opportunity to sell their work.
The evening will be held between 6.30pm and 9pm on Thursday December 15 and entry is free.
