A Tyneside mum is aiming to raise £2014 by covering 2014 miles to raise money for the Stroke Association.
Kath Mather, 41 from West Allotment set herself the demanding challenge after her stepdad Colin Sore died of a stroke last year at the age of 65.
She has alreadt cycled an impressive 337 miles to kick start the challenge, swam 26 miles and is aiming to ‘skate’ the length of the River Tyne and back on a machine at the gym during March.
Kath said: “I wanted to get fit in 2014 but needed a challenge which would inspire me to continue throughout the year. After my stepdad passed away of a stroke last year, I was keen to raise funds for the Stroke Association because of the incredible work the charity does to support stroke survivors and their families.
Kath has raised £350 of her target so far. To donate, visit to her cause visit www.justgiving.com/Kath-mather
