Artistic students have shown they have ‘reel’ talent after designing film posters for an exhibition.
A-level graphic design students at Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College in North Shields were invited to showcase their posters at an exhibition hosted by the Jam Jar Cinema in Whitley Bay.
The 14 pupils were given a brief to design film posters based on the minimalistic graphic design concepts of Saul Bass, with their teachers delighted with the high standard of work produced.
The exhibition was on display at the cinema from January 29 to February 7.
Dr Paul Harvey, programme leader for the HND graphic design course, said: “The exhibition was a huge success. The students demonstrated they could follow a brief and produce designs of the highest standards.
“I was extremely impressed with their design concepts and levels of creativity.”
