A Whitley Bay teenager has taken his first steps on the career ladder.
Adam Bishop has been taken on by letting company GFW Letting as its first property apprentice at their Newcastle office.
The 18-year-old, a former pupil at Whitley Bay High School, joins as a trainee property assistant, working alongside the property management team.
Adam said: “There’s a lot of variety in the work and I get to work both in and out of the office and have the chance to meet lots of new people.
“I’ve really settled in well and I’m enjoying my role so far. I see property management as being a career for the future – people will always need somewhere to live and renting is becoming an increasingly popular choice.”
At the end of the year, Adam will receive a formal qualification in property management enabling him to take the next step in his career.
GFW letting director Holly Armstrong said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Adam and for GFW Letting and we are thrilled to have him on board.
“We were extremely impressed by Adam’s enthusiasm and the fresh new ideas he brought to the table and we look forward to seeing him continue to develop his understanding of the industry, throughout the year.”
Adam is working alongside property manager Stacey Hogg. She said: “I’m delighted to have Adam on board.
“Taking on a talented new apprentice will only help to strengthen the GFW Letting offer even more so.”
