Anne captures recognition from top American society
Whitley Bay photographer Anne Swearman who has been elected as an Associate of the Photographic Society of America.
A WHITLEY Bay photographer has been elected as an Associate of the Photographic Society of America (PSA).
Anne Swearman received the award in recognition of her service and lecture presentations to the Northern Counties Photographic Federation, Royal Photographic Society, the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain and her international exhibition record.
The award ceremony was held at the PSA International Conference in San Francisco.
Anne, a former teacher at Wallsend Jubilee School, said: “I am very proud. It is nice to be recognised.
“One of the most important things is that the PSA takes notice of its grassroot members.
“It is nice they have taken the trouble to find out more about somebody that is on the other side of the Atlantic.”
Anne has been a member of the Whitley Bay Photographic Society for more than 30 years and enjoys using digital photography to produce creative images which are regarded as ‘seriously weird’.
She is also a judge, lecturer and member of a PSA Electronic Imaging Division Study Group for creative photography.
