Arrest follows van break-ins

A MAN has been arrested after a number of vans were broken into in North Shields.

Five vans had their windows smashed and were broken into in Glanton Road, Morwick Road, Hedgeley Road, Queen Alexandra Road and Edwina Gardens, overnight on Monday.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish if anything was stolen and officers have arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of theft. He was taken into police custody.
