An art charity in Blyth has secured almost £10,000 from the Big Lottery Fund.
Northern Butterflies is a group for motivated, energetic young people with learning disabilities and difficulties who engage in art projects across the wider community in south east Northumberland and in a wide range of forms.
Art director Samantha Goodlet said: “This money is needed to sustain the group and offering opportunities for people with mental health problems and learning disabilities that would not normally be offered to them.”
Students are able to build a portfolio that help them in other aspects of their life and utilise transferable skills.
Northern Butterflies is based at the Buffalo Centre in Blyth on a Tuesday morning.
