Borough charity’s Red Cross support

A Whitley Bay-based charity has presented a cheque for more than £2,700 to the British Red Cross.

The Angels of the North has handed over £2,731.81 to the organisation’ssenior community fundraiser Margaret Musgrave.

The charity’s honorary chief executive officer, Barbara Connors-Fowler, said: “The Red Cross is at the forefront of bringing food, water, shelter and healthcare to those affected and my fellow trustees are delighted to support their work undertaken so efficiently both at home and abroad.

“We are very proud of our continuing partnership with such a marvellous organisation.”

Margaret said: “The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are.

“We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies.”

“We enable vulnerable people in the UK and abroad to prepare for and withstand emergencies – and, when the crisis is over, we help them to recover and move on with their lives.”
