Dedicated and hard working staff in North Tyneside have been honoured for their valued contribution to helping young people.

Helping Hands, delivered by North Tyneside Council’s Connexions service and the Phoenix Detached Youth project, has been awarded the Partnership Working accolade at the prestigious Youth Focus awards.

The Helping Hands project helps 13 to 25-year-olds by providing a safe, supportive and consistent environment for vulnerable young people with mental health or emotional well-being issues.

Phoenix project manager Mike Burgess said: “This partnership between the Statuary Sector and Voluntary Sector, is an excellent example of what can be achieved for the benefit and support of young people living in North Tyneside.”
