Business set to create over 30 new jobs

A HOME improvement specialist has marked the new year by introducing a major investment package that will bring more than 30 new jobs to North Tyneside.

Pennine is spending more than £500,000 to double the size of its Benton window and conservatory show village to make it the largest in the north east, as well as launching a whole new series of products.

New jobs will include display demonstrators, telesales staff and installation teams.

Mel Gess, sales and marketing director at Pennine, said: “Despite the fact that we are living through very challenging times we ended 2012 in a strong and healthy position so we are pushing on with our plans to build on our success at the start of the new year.

“We are continuing to invest in the sort of show facilities that give home owners the best possible chance to see and evaluate our great portfolio of products which we also continue to expand and develop.

“That sort of approach is not only enabling us to grow the business but to create more than 30 new jobs for sales staff, display demonstrators, telesales staff and installation teams.

“But we are also looking at new areas where we can further develop the Pennine, brand especially through the setting up a brand new renewable energy division giving customers the chance to invest in their homes by way of solar panels and thermo-dynamics that not only save them money on their energy bills but actually work as a source of income through the opportunity to sell-back energy they generate to the national grid.”

Pennine is also rebuilding its showroom sites at Dobbies garden centre in Ponteland and Birtley, Peter Barratts in Gosforth and Heighley Gate near Morpeth.
