Cash boost for finance help programme

A programme to help people struggling with their finances has received a cash boost.

North Tyneside CAB (NTCAB) has received £10,000 to fund a community finance education programme for people with debts and budgeting.

The donation was provided by the Santander Foundation.

The grant will cover the cost of a sessional worker and training materials for NTCAB’s new, innovative ‘Healthy Family Finance’ training programme.

The course will deliver sessions on budgeting and debt management with the aim of producing long-term changes to the way people manage their finances.

Mark Brown, project development manager at NTCAB, said: “This generous grant from has brought much needed financial support to the Bureau.

“It will enable us to deliver a new financial capability service within the local community and enhance our service delivery.”

Zoe Cooper, branch manager at Santander’s Whitley Bay branch, said: “Our branch is committed to playing a key part in the community and we are delighted to be supporting NTCAB, and hope the donation makes a real difference to local people.”
