Cashpoint theft in Wallsend

Police are appealing for help to trace a woman after a North Tyneside theft.

It happened at 10.15am on Thursday, April 17, when a woman withdrew money from a cash machine at the One Stop Store at Coastway Shopping Centre in Wallsend, but accidentally left the cash behind in the machine.

She realised a short time later but when she went back the cash had gone. Police are appealing for the cash to be handed in.

They also need to speak to a woman who they believe may be able to help with their enquiries.

She is described as white, aged in her 70s, with short curled grey hair, wearing a long purple coloured coat, black trousers and white trainers, and carrying a white and gold handbag.

Anyone who recognises the description of has information about the theft is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, quoting reference 375 17/04/14, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
