Residents have been given the chance to ask questions about dementia.

The Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Community Roadshow stopped off in Tynemouth and North Shields as part of the charity’s seaside tour.

Staff manning the roadshow offered free information and advice to anyone with queries about the condition, as well as helping to promote the benefits of an early diagnosis.

Jacqueline Robson, Alzheimer’s Society services manager for North Tyneside and Newcastle, said: “It was hugely popular and this highlighted the need that people in and around North Shields and Tynemouth have for information and support around dementia.

“The staff and volunteers that manned the roadshow were overwhelmed by the response and they worked really hard to give everyone the vital information and signposting that they needed.”

“It proved to be a huge success and I am already pushing for the roadshow to come back in North Tyneside soon.”
