Festive fun is taking place for families across the borough this weekend.
A Christmas event is taking place at Richardson Dees Park, in Wallsend, on Saturday and Sunday (December 14 and 15).
Residents are being encouraged to drop by from 1pm to 6pm and make a Christmas tree decoration using materials such as glass, wax and willow, for just £1 each.
Families can also enjoy listening to free festive tales while enjoying chestnuts which have been roasted on an open fire.

And back by popular demand, St Mary’s Island is holding Christmas stranding events.
While stranded on the island, children can enjoy Christmas games, crafts and stories, as well as a visit to Santa.
Tickets for the stranding event, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday, cost £12 per child and £5 per adult, booking is essential.
