A special event is being held to help bring the community together and raise money for a junior football club.

As part of The Big Lunch initiative, lead by Asda and Halifax, Foxhunters Pavilion will be throwing open its doors on Sunday, June 1.

The event – from noon to 3pm at the sports pavilion in Preston Gate North – is also backed by North Tyneside Council and will raise money for Whitley Bay FC Juniors.

Activities include rounders, volleyball, street golf, street tennis, egg and spoon races, bubble football, bouncy castle, and dance mats. There will be demonstrations by groups who use the pavilion.

Food and refreshments are provided although people can bring their own picnic.
