Community culture group's dancing festival

MUSIC enthusiasts put on their dancing shoes to take part in the first major event staged by Culture Quarter.

The community-themed culture group put on its first 'Dancing Fest' and say it was a success, despite a mixture of weather.

Wind kept the crowds away on the first day but Addison Rapper and Blyth Valley Samba gave spirited performances to the delight of the select crowd.

The following day, better weather ensured that Hexham Morris, Hexhamshire Lasses and Star and Shadow had better audiences for their respective endeavours.

A tea dance and family ceilidh were both held at Marine Park First School, next to Culture Quarter's new headquarters in Marine Avenue.

More events are planned by the company during the summer.
