Culture Quarter promote ceilidh club night

A SECOND Ceilidh Club is to take place at a new venue this weekend.

Local enterprise Culture Quarter has arranged for the event to take place again at the Trojan Rooms, on South Parade, Whitley Bay, on Saturday, February 21 from 8pm to 11pm.

Legendary Tony Corcoran, well known through the Newcastle Irish Centre and Festival, will be bringing his band to lead the evening, with a caller on hand to introduce the dances and assist newcomers to the genre.

All ages and abilities are welcome to attend. Tickets cost 6 or 4.50 for Culture Quarter members.

The first Ceilidh Club proved a great success, with Culture Quarter's finance director Gavin Hennessey saying: "If I can do this, anyone can.

"It's a fantastic way to meet new people and have a great time."
