Culture group host dance festival weekend

A SERIES of cultural and dance-themed events are to be brought to Whitley Bay.

Community group Culture Quarter is hosting a new Traditional Dance Festival in the town on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5.

Dance teams will be performing at Panama Dip, outside the Spanish City, near Culture Quarter's headquarters and in the car park of the Berkeley Tavern at various stages in the afternoon.

On the Saturday, Addison Rapper and Star and Shadow will perform, with Hexham Morris and Hexham Lasses appearing on the Sunday.

Blyth Valley Samba, Whitley Bay Operatic Society and Pipers Fancy will also be performing, with live singing and music at the Berkeley throughout the weekend.
