Staff and pupils at a borough school are celebrating their latest ‘good’ rating from inspectors.
During Ofsted’s visit to Backworth Park Primary School, the inspector noted that the school provides a safe, inclusive, harmonious and nurturing environment while also acknowledged the strong and shared commitment of all to ‘provide high quality support and care for all pupils’.
They also found there was excellent team work evident across the school, with very positive relationships with parents and families.
The inspection found that parents are supportive of the school and feel that children are taught well and make good progress.
A group of children who represented the school at the private meeting with the inspector were a credit to the school, having lots to offer about their experiences at Backworth Park.
Staff and governors were thanked for their support.
Headteacher Carol Crerar said: “I would like to extend my personal thanks to my fantastic staff for their team spirit and the governing body for their high quality support, to ensure that justified endorsement was received for the significant improvements made.”
