Local schools and businesses are being encouraged to get behind Bobble Day, part of Age UK’s Spread the Warmth campaign to help keep older people warm during the winter.
Bobble Day on February 7, will see people raising money for the charity, by wearing one of Age UK’s bobble badges or being sponsored to do something incredible.
Money raised from Bobble Day will go towards Age UK’s Spread the Warmth campaignto help older people keep warm and well throughout the winter in a number of ways, including through winter benefit checks and handyperson services.
Alma Caldwell, chief executive of Age UK North Tyneside, said: “We want everyone to do something incredi-bobble for Bobble Day this year.
“You can help us to warm up our borough by wearing an Age UK bobble badge or having fun with colleagues by dressing up your favourite woolly jumper with bobbles – turn it into a team competition.”
Colourful bobbles can be bought from your local Age UK at the Bradbury Centre in North Shields.
