St Paul’s Church in Whitley Bay are beginning their 150th anniversary celebrations with an Easter Service this weekend.
Starting at 8am on Sunday April 20, the special service will begin outside the Church on Park View in the town centre.
It will take place around a bonfire in the grounds of the church, from where the Paschal candle will be lit and then taken into the dark church.
As the light spreads through the St Paul’s Church the baptism ceremonies and Easter Eucharist ceremonies will commence.
These will be followed by the distribution of eggs and a shared breakfast.
Everyone is welcome to attend on Sunday.
