Street entertainers fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival will be performing at the new Spanish City Plaza in Whitley Bay next week.
International buskers will showcase their weird and wonderful talents, with daily shows at 1pm and 3pm, between Monday, August 18, and Monday, August 25.
The programme includes acts from Australia, Ghana, the USA and New Zealand, as well as the UK.
Highlights include the Fanti Acrobats from Ghana with their unique West African acrobatics, magician and escapologist Todd Various from Michigan in the US and New Zealand’s Mulletman, who presents a unique combination of juggling and tongue-in-cheek hair styling tips.
Coun Eddie Darke, cabinet member for leisure, culture and tourism, said: “We’ve seen some great entertainment already on the new Plaza this summer and we’re really looking forward to welcoming these international performers to Whitley Bay.”
The events are part of a daily summer-long programme of free entertainment on the seafront, organised by North Tyneside Council.
Hundreds of people have enjoyed the activities that have already taken place, including live acoustic music, dance performances and a week of traditional jazz.
