Robin Fry, volunteer centre manager at VODA, said: “Volunteering in North Tyneside is thriving.
“We see people from all backgrounds wanting to get involved and help out. Some have special skills, while many others simply have the time and desire to help others.
“Most volunteering opportunities come with training and guidance so it’s a great way to learn new things.”
Anyone interested in volunteering can leave their details with the library for VODA staff to pick up.
VODA will also be at the Quadrant on Monday 9 June between noon and 2pm to answer questions.
VODA will also be hosting a Volunteering Marketplace at North Shields Library on Saturday, June 21, from 1pm to 4pm, where organisations who use volunteers will be promoting the latest opportunities.
