Four arrested over pub robbery

Four people have been arrested following a robbery at a Tynemouth pub.

Two men, aged 44 and 37, and two women, aged 41 and 31, have been arrested following the incident at 4am on Monday, August 25 at the Salutation Hotel, in Front Street.

A police spokesperson said the men were still in custody on Thursday morning.

Officers are continuing to carry out enquiries and asking any witnesses to contact them.

North Tyneside Superintendent Paul Orchard said: “We know incidents such as this cause our local communities concern and I would like to reassure local residents that we are continuing to carry out enquiries.

“Four people have been arrested and are helping with our enquiries. If anyone has any information I would urge them to come forward.”
