Youngsters were given a ‘MaD’ experience as they got their teeth into a taste of university life and potential career paths.
Year 9 pupils at Norham High School in North Shields visited Newcastle University for a special event.
The ‘MaD Day’ allowed them to experience interactive and informative sessions exploring medicine and dentistry.
Pupils had the opportunity to take part in a session in the medical clinical skills labs and the dental learning resource centre in a series of hands on activities.
They also spent time in the facility’s lecture theatres, as well as interacting with current medical and dentistry students.
The aim of the day was to raise pupils’ aspirations by introducing them to medicine and dentistry and increasing their awareness of the different careers available through science subjects.
