Ghost hunt for charity

GHOSTLY apparitions and things that go bump in the night are helping one North Shields clairvoyant raise money for charity.

In the last three months the spooky events have raised around 700 for nominated charity the Anthony Nolan Trust.

The hunts take place on the last Friday of every month in various settings such as cemeteries, castles and stately homes.

The location remains a secret until just before the event to stop participants carrying out their own research on ghostly goings on.

The brave participants have to sign up two weeks prior to each event for health and safety reasons and on the day they meet at the

Spriritual Studio in North Shields from where transport is arranged.

The most recent hunt took place at Mary Queen of Scots' house in Jedburgh and Jedburgh Jail.

The hunts cost from 10 to 110 depending on location and can be booked by telephoning clairvoyant Richard Batey on (0191) 259 60 01 and paying a 10 deposit.
