Help at hand for credit crunch brides

CREDIT crunch brides looking for the perfect dress for their big day are about to have their prayers answered with the launch of a charity website.

Customers from the north east will now have the chance to buy from Barnardo's famous Brides By Appointment store in Shropshire – at www.bridesbyappointment.co.uk

Every gown sold in the shop and online is new and unworn, and has been donated anonymously by high-end bridal designers and retailers, often as ex-samples or end of line products and customers can expect amazing savings of up to 80 per cent off the recommended retail price.

With sizes from 8-28, there really is something for everyone, including bridesmaids, flower-girls and mothers of the bride.

The website will also carry a stunning range of bridal accessories and jewellery.

All profits from the store and the website will fund Barnardo's vital work with some of the most vulnerable children and young people, helping them to transform their lives and fulfil their potential.

Manager Suzanne Heavens said: "The shop really is a treasure trove, as you can pick up an amazing dress here for a fraction of its retail price.

"As the recession starts to bite, we are busier than ever and we're thrilled that the store is now available online.

"We're really pleased with the look and feel of the website and hope that we can help even more brides to feel extra special on their big day, regardless of their budget."
